Fresh Starts, Part 2 — New Every Morning

Hey there, Mama,

Last week we talked about something many moms don’t feel free to say out loud—that sometimes fresh starts feel heavy. And if you nodded along to that, I want you to know this next truth is just as important:

Fresh starts with Christ are truly fresh.

Not recycled.
Not conditional.
Not dependent on how well we did last year.

As we continue into this new year, I want this newsletter to feel like a deep breath for your soul. A reminder of the good news. Because while growth can feel stretching, grace is what makes new beginnings possible—again and again.

Devotion: Truly New in Christ

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. Old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”

One of the most freeing truths of our faith is this: when we come to Christ, the old really does pass away.

God doesn’t keep a running list of our failures. He doesn’t replay our worst moments. Scripture tells us He casts our sins into the sea of forgetfulness (Micah 7:19). When we repent and ask for forgiveness, Jesus is faithful and just to forgive us (1 John 1:9)—and then He moves forward.

He’s not like us, replaying the past or reminding us of who we used to be. He looks at us and sees who we are becoming. And mama, this is such good news for motherhood.

Some of us were walking with Christ when we became mothers. Some of us weren’t. Some of us did the best we could with the tools we had at the time—and later realized there were better ways.

But once we gain new wisdom, new understanding, new awareness—that becomes A NEW starting point.

Grace doesn’t shame us for what we didn’t know.
Grace empowers us to do better now that we do.

Take a Moment to Reflect

Take a moment to reflect:

  • Where do I need to release guilt from a past season of motherhood?
  • What is God inviting me to begin again—with grace?
  • How would I parent differently if I truly believed God had already forgiven me?

Pray: Father, thank you for your mercies that are new every morning. Forgive me for moment I've condemned myself instead of trusting in your forgiveness. Help me to depend on your grace and look forward to your mercies that are new every morning. In Jesus name. Amen.

Faith-Filled Affirmation For the Week

"Because I am in Christ, I am made new. I release guilt from past seasons and receive God’s fresh mercy today. I am learning, growing, and becoming—one grace-filled day at a time.

Why Your Identity Isn’t Defined by Productivity

As moms, it’s easy to fall into the rhythm of go, go, go—juggling careers, kids, schedules, church, and everything in between. Over time, productivity can quietly become tied to our sense of worth. But when exhaustion sets in and burnout creeps in, we begin to question ourselves as moms and women. This post is a gentle reminder that your identity isn’t found in how much you do, but in who you are. Together, we’ll explore how to manage productivity with wisdom, protect your mental health, and walk confidently in your God-given identity—without burning out.

Mom Tips: Living Out Fresh Starts

  1. Stop parenting from regret. Wisdom grows with time—honor that.
  2. Lead with humility, not perfection. It’s okay to say, “I’ve learned more now.”
  3. Give yourself daily grace. Today matters more than yesterday.
  4. Model growth for your children. Showing change teaches them how to grow too.

Closing Encouragement

Motherhood is full of fresh starts—whether we recognize them or not.

Day by day.
Year by year.
Season by season.

We learn. We grow. We adjust. And every morning, God meets us with new mercies (Lamentations 3:22–23). Not reused mercy. Not leftover grace. New.

Every morning you wake up is another chance to love well, try again, and walk forward with renewed strength—not because you’re perfect, but because God is faithful.

You are new.
You are growing.
And God’s grace is more than enough—for motherhood and beyond.

With grace and hope,
— Karen 🤎

Hey there, Mama, We have completed the second full week of 2026, and I want to say something out loud that many of us may quietly feel: sometimes a fresh start doesn’t feel fresh at all. Sometimes it feels heavy.Uncomfortable.Stretching. If you’re a working mom trying to grow, heal, and walk more confidently in your God-given purpose, you may have entered this year hopeful—but also tired. And I want you to know right from the start: you’re not doing this new year wrong. Growth often feels...

Happy New Year, Mama! I pray that as you stepped into 2026, you did so with peace—and that grace met you right at the door. This time of year often comes with pressure. Pressure to set goals. Make resolutions. Decide who we’re going to become. But as I transition into this new year, I’m choosing something different. I’m choosing grace. Instead of rushing to define resolutions or accomplishments, I’ve been inviting God into this new year and simply asking, “Lord, what do You want for me?” Not...

Merry Christmas, Mama 🎄 As we wrap gifts, prepare meals, juggle schedules, and navigate all the emotions this season can bring, I want to gently remind you of something important: Christmas was never meant to be perfect—it was meant to be personal. In my recent blog, Merry Christmas From a Mother’s Heart, I shared this truth:“Christmas is an invitation to focus on the eighty percent—the good, the joyful, the laughter, the memories, the grace. It’s a moment to choose unity over being right,...
