Happy New Year, Mama — Choosing Grace as We Begin Again

Happy New Year, Mama!

I pray that as you stepped into 2026, you did so with peace—and that grace met you right at the door.

This time of year often comes with pressure. Pressure to set goals. Make resolutions. Decide who we’re going to become. But as I transition into this new year, I’m choosing something different. I’m choosing grace.

Instead of rushing to define resolutions or accomplishments, I’ve been inviting God into this new year and simply asking, “Lord, what do You want for me?” Not who I need to become—but how I can grow and develop in who He already says I am.

As I prayed and reflected, I realized my desire for this year is simple: to steward well what God has already given me. My faith. My family. My calling. My heart. Giving to God what I owe: my time, my talents, my gifts, and my possessions. And to trust that His grace will meet me every step of the way.

So here's to a year of leaning on God's grace, favor and divine ease. For my life and your's. 🤎

Devotion: Grace for a New Beginning

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”
— 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV)
One of the most beautiful truths about walking with Christ is that new beginnings are always available to us. Not just once a year—but every single day.
God’s grace doesn’t run out when we fall short. It doesn’t diminish when we don’t have it all figured out. Scripture reminds us that His mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22–23). Not recycled. Not reused. Brand new.
That means as moms, wives, and women of God, we don’t have to start this year striving to be someone else. We get to start by leaning into grace—grace that covers our past, strengthens us in the present, and carries us into what’s ahead.
Grace allows us to grow without shame. To try again without fear. To begin again without guilt. And when we come to Christ, all things truly can become new—not because we’re perfect, but because He is faithful.

Take a Moment to Reflect

Take a quiet moment and reflect:

  • Where have I been putting pressure on myself to “get it right” this year?
  • What would it look like to invite God into this year before setting expectations?
  • How can I steward well what God has already placed in my hands?

Pray: Lord, I thank you for making it to 2026. Forgive me for moments I do not include you. Help me to trade stresses and pressures of this world for your grace. I invite you into my plans, my goals, and expectations for this year. In Jesus name. Amen

Faith-Filled Affirmation For the Week

"I enter this new year covered in grace. I am not behind, lacking, or failing. God’s mercies are new for me today, and I will steward this season with faith, peace, and trust in Him."

Mom Tips for Starting the New Year With Grace

  1. Start small and stay present. Faithfulness in little things matters.
  2. Replace pressure with prayer. Ask God for wisdom before making plans.
  3. Give yourself permission to grow slowly. Grace honors progress, not perfection.

Closing Encouragement

Mama, this year doesn’t need a perfect plan—it needs a surrendered heart. God is already at work in you, and His grace is more than sufficient for what lies ahead.

Let this be a year where grace leads—and striving takes a back seat.
— Karen 🤎

Hey there, Mama, Last week we talked about something many moms don’t feel free to say out loud—that sometimes fresh starts feel heavy. And if you nodded along to that, I want you to know this next truth is just as important: Fresh starts with Christ are truly fresh. Not recycled. Not conditional. Not dependent on how well we did last year. As we continue into this new year, I want this newsletter to feel like a deep breath for your soul. A reminder of the good news. Because while growth can...

Hey there, Mama, We have completed the second full week of 2026, and I want to say something out loud that many of us may quietly feel: sometimes a fresh start doesn’t feel fresh at all. Sometimes it feels heavy.Uncomfortable.Stretching. If you’re a working mom trying to grow, heal, and walk more confidently in your God-given purpose, you may have entered this year hopeful—but also tired. And I want you to know right from the start: you’re not doing this new year wrong. Growth often feels...

Merry Christmas, Mama 🎄 As we wrap gifts, prepare meals, juggle schedules, and navigate all the emotions this season can bring, I want to gently remind you of something important: Christmas was never meant to be perfect—it was meant to be personal. In my recent blog, Merry Christmas From a Mother’s Heart, I shared this truth:“Christmas is an invitation to focus on the eighty percent—the good, the joyful, the laughter, the memories, the grace. It’s a moment to choose unity over being right,...
