Happy Mother's Day 💐

Hey there, Mama 🩷 Happy Mother’s Day!

Today is your day.

And while I pray you are showered with love, appreciation, hugs, flowers, cards, text messages, naps, laughter, and maybe even a hot meal you didn’t have to cook… I want you to remember something important:

The most important part of today is that you give yourself permission to celebrate YOU.

Not just as “mom.” But as the woman God handcrafted with intention.

Mama, you were customized by God to be the perfect mother for the children in your life. Not a perfect woman—but the perfect fit for your family. Your voice, your softness, your strength, your quirks, your wisdom, even the lessons you’re still learning… God factored all of it in. Isn't that awesome?! He didn't count us out, but IN! I just giggle at the thought of how much God loves me as I am and uses every part of me to bring Him glory. And it's the same for you, too!

And because of that, I want to encourage you today to be okay with asking for what you want.

If you want rest—rest.
If you want quiet—take it.
If you want to go out by yourself—do that.

If you want brunch with your girls, a solo Target run, a nap, a massage, or simply to sit in peace without someone calling your name every five minutes… enjoy it without guilt. (And let's face it. Sometimes the guilt tries to sneak in anyways. So if it does, let it sit there and watch you enjoy yourself. LOL!)

Another thing, Mama. It’s okay to lovingly say, “No thank you,” even to things offered out of love if they create more anxiety, pressure, or exhaustion for you.

Yes, motherhood requires sacrifice.
Yes, we compromise often.
Yes, we pour out daily.

But today?

Today is your day. I pray you embrace it fully. I pray you celebrate not only what you do, but who you are.

A nurturer.
A guide.
A comforter.
A woman carrying life, love, wisdom, and grace into the lives around her.

And whether today feels joyful, emotional, exhausting, healing, bittersweet, or somewhere in between, I hope you remember this:

You deserve care too.

So breathe deeply today, Mama.
Laugh freely.
Rest intentionally.
Receive love openly.
And celebrate yourself unapologetically.

You are worthy of that.

“She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.”
Proverbs 31:25

With laughter, love, and strength,
🩷Karen

Hey there, Mama 🤎 I can distinctly remember when I was a little girl, I always wanted to be a teacher… or a writer (an author, but I didn't use that word. Lol!) and even an actress. When I look back, God has been so good. I was blessed to be a teacher for about a decade and spent 17 years in education overall, and I truly loved it. But there were other things God placed on my heart too… writing, acting, creating. I’ve had glimpses of those dreams: singing in the choir, writing skits for...

Hey there, Mama 🤎 I can remember my early years of motherhood so clearly. I was a young mom, working, a fairly new wife, and trying to be as active in church as possible. I wanted to do it all. Be everything. Show up everywhere. And if I’m honest, I still have moments now where I can feel myself drifting back into that same mindset. But back then, I didn’t realize I was burning myself out. I also didn’t understand that God’s love was not predicated on my output… not on how much I served, how...

Hey there, Mama 🤎 As I reflected on Easter—Resurrection Sunday—I was reminded of something so powerful: Because Jesus rose and lived again… we can too. We can live again. We can begin again. And the beautiful part about this gift is that we don’t have to wait until eternity to experience it. We get to experience it right now. Even in motherhood. Motherhood takes us through so many seasons. And sometimes, if we’re honest, it can feel like parts of us have died along the way. Not always the...
